Tropical Climate SSI or Headers w/o exchangers
Hello Pelicans-
Had the chance to drive another SC with aftermarket stainless heat exchanger/headers....It was immediately clear that this car had more torque/punch. The difference between my cat delete set up and the backdate style headers was very noticeable. I have read that the SC respond well to this upgrade. On this SC the heat was disconnected. My question is what route to take, I don't for see my 911 leaving the Islands, so heat is not necessary, maybe warm deforest for rainy/humid window condensation issues but nothing a towel and regular ambient air would not solve. So my question is do I go for original quality SSI exchangers and a two in one out Monty and keep the heat option or would running straight headers be better option. My goal is to experience this improved response/HP with out to much more exhaust decimals. My 911 will be used for street use only on Kauai. Below is a photo of the ssi style header on the other 1980sc I was fortunate enough to drive. Thanks again. JS ![]() Last edited by ARCSinAK; 01-18-2010 at 10:44 PM.. |

I think Dansk or SSI makes SS 1.5" headers w/o heater boxes if that is your goal.
