engine decoder confirmation required
Have a 930/13 engine with 63Cxxxx number,
in super condition and very powerful but in wrong year chassis (1975) from my searches ( google) lead to think it is an SC engine from 1982???it has the air pump from a 1975 on it, but a red shroud ?????? can anyone shed light or confirm/deny?, thank you JPSmileWavy http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1263968187.jpg |
JP it indeed seems to be an 82 SC engine (and either an ROW or Japanese spec engine, hope for ROW then you have the 204hp one) what with the 63C number designation, although the type 930/13 seems wrong should be 930/10, 930/16 or 930/17 for C-program 82 model year. See chart below extract from Simon's Porsche 911 SC Site

thank you Davey,
yes the 930/13 is weird but correctly stamped as the type number??? |
930/13 is a 1978 ROW 3L. 180HP. I bet your 63C is really 638 for the serial number.

jstobo no the 78 SC had engine types 930/03, 04, 05 and 06 designations. Wait found it what it actually is, is a 1978 ROW SC for Sportomatics same specs as the 930/03 so mystery solved it is a 78 ROW motor 180hp this according to
