Tail light wiring question

Where do the wire bundles labled A and B go to? One goes to the license plate light, but where does the other go? I have a pair of wires unattached behind my tail light assembly.

On the driver's side, one of these I believe is the factory harness for the rear fog lamp. If I recall correctly, it had a whiteish woven cloth sheath over two wires, neatly folded and zip-tied.
The other I think goes onto the bumper to power the left (or maybe both?) license plate light.

On the passenger side, the wires for the oil tank level sending unit and right license plate light travel with the taillight harness, exiting in a similar way.

Its been almost a year now since I had all this apart on my 911, but I think this is right.

Nick.

Ah, that's it. Wiring for the a rear fog light! Good, that means I can leave it disconnected.

Thanks

Yuckk

How's this for a little corrosion inside a taillight assembly?

Hello

This picture shows a post 86 wireloom.

They have 7 pins in the rubbersocket

The wires with the connectors are for the ROW Foglights and the cable set with the small spades are for the licence plate illumination. Those wire looms have no wires for the oil level sender.

But you can modify them for the old setup.

Grüsse
