what ITB's for a 3.8??

Your all proberbly sick of my questions over the last few months, but I was wondering what size ITB's do I go on my 3.8.

I'm not going to go too mental on the camshaft front GE60 will do as I was some street & track performance with the JE's and CWM cylinders.

I was looking at going for a set of 50mm PMO ITB's and Megasquirt, but I can across these babies 50/45mm tapered itb's for porsche at half the $$ of PMO and TWM

Has anyone used these and would a tapered 50/45mm set up be suitable of my 3.8, I'm using 993 heads from a VRAM so I think my intake port size is 49 or 50mm.

advice is apprciated

I rang them $2400 and he does'nt make them anymore, they are based on the old RSR 50/42mm at the head, the extrudabodies are still half that even with xchange rate.

Did you get my PM? I sent you a phone number and name for Injection perfection.

I priced a pair of these over 12 months ago and was quoted $2,500...
But I would expect they gone up a bit by now.

I relied as the same time you posted.

Your choice but I like that these are Australian made.

Have fun

Have you seen the Slidevalve injection set-up over at Rothsport...I have seen it in persion and it is sweet.

They also have High-Butterfly and Low-Butterfly systems...

The Rothsport high and low butterfly setups appear to be Jenvey throttles with their own well thought out manifolds and linkage.....

The slidevavle stuff on the other hand looks very interesting.

I have had many Rothsport designed bits pass through our shop and they are top quality!

Jeff

x1... I have always thought about a slide valve set-up.
With duel spark ignition it would make for the ultimate street hot rod !

However I've read they can stick open if they get dirty so really only good for racing.

Do you think this new design may overcome that problem?

Jeff Alton 01-20-2010 11:40 PM

I don't know if it will overcome the issues with the original slides sticking.... but I do know that Jeff and his gang at Rothsport don't put stuff to market that does not work. I have held and installed their products, and they are top notch.

Drop them a line and see what they say about wether or not this is race only product. They are a good bunch and seem to return emails etc promptly.

Cheers
