I measured wrong and need to get some glue of the new carpet!
 

I installed the RS carpet last night in the car and (I am kicking myself really hard at the moment) did not measure the rear section properly. I have ended up with a visible line of contact adhesive running down one of the sections where the seam is :(

Any good suggestions or advice on how to clean it up?

Assuming you used contact adhesive Mineral turpentine should get it off...

Pour some on a cotton terry cloth and rub directly on the glue...
A cotton baby diaper is perfect for this.

But be careful. It may mark the carpet.
Rub some on a spare piece to test...

I've used 3m Adhesive remover many times and have never had any staining or bleeding problems. You may want to pick up some at your local paint and body shop.

Ditto, it's the mate to the 3M adhesive. Used it many times without any issues. Mainly on painted surfaces. But a couple times on carpet.

If you are worried about the adhesive remover leaving a mark, use a razor and shave the glue, I have used an electric hair trimmer to tidy up carpet, let us know how you get on.

That might work, but as it is a very thin RS carpet I would be worried that I cut away everything!

If it makes you feel any better that's a very common mistake.

I feel confident that you will be able to get it off with either the 3M product or turpentine.

How long has it been there? The longer you wait the harder it will be to get off.

I've heard very thin machine oil in a spray bottle can be used to remove glue residue, although I've never tried it myself.

OK, did some reading and asking at the local shops here in Stockholm. The glue I used can be removed with acetone, and I have been recommended to try first with some nail-polish remover. I will sneak out to the garage this weekend with the wife's nail-polish remover and give it a go :)

Im sure she wouldnt mind! HAHA Just dont forget and leave it out there!
