Window switch
Just recieved my new window switch from our host, would it be best to remove the door panel or just pry out the old switch and replace? Thanks Lenny:rolleyes:

GENTLY pry the switch out and swap the wires one for one.
There is a thin metal surround around the opening sobesure that you pry only on the switch as it is easy to bend the metal which won't allow the switch to seat all the way. |
Thanks Wayne, sounds better then removing the panel right now.

+1 on carefully prying the switch out of the panel. I did it about 2 weeks ago and the whole job took about 3 minutes.

Great, will do that tomorrow.

be warned it will be a different finish from the original, one is matte and one is gloss. if you are replacing one of the driver's side switches like i had to i found it best to replace the passenger side and use that one to replace the broken driver's side.

Be very careful when pulling the old switch - the wires on mine were very short and I had to reach inside the panel with needle nose to pull the wires.
Also - one set of my wires were all black - I had to mark the wires as to which of the 5 tabs they went to so I could hook it back up properly. |
