Sunroof noise
I know this came up before, the sunroof rattles when it is closed. When it is open, it quiets down. I think the rattling noise is the section of the headliner that moves with the sunroof. Is there any way to secure this portion of the headliner to the sunroof without removing the entire headliner?

Sunroof Noise
Joe,
You can open the sunroof 1/2 way, and examine the front lip of the sunroof to determine whether any of the clips that retain the sunroof headliner panel to the bottom (front) of the sunroof have worked loose. If these clips are secure, you can loosen the sunroof (extruded aluminum) channels by removing the phillips head screws in the front corner brackets, then removing the screws that retain the front of the chanels to the car. You can then opt to unclip the sunroof headliner panel from the sunroof itself, and slide it out of the chanels to determine if the headliner material has worn away enough to allow for excessive play between the headliner panel and the channels, which will create at vibrating noise at speed. Your other option would be to remove the sunroof. Hope this helps. Lindy |
