Is this an aftermarket AC cut-out?
Hi,
I have this hole into the smugglers box on my car: ![]() It looks uneven and home made, maybe with a dull knife. But, can anyone tell me what it is for? I'm guessing it's for an aftermarket AC unit, but I'm not sure. Can I just weld it shut or do I need to take any other things into consideration? Thanks, Johan

Looks like a hack an aftermarket idiot would do... Here is some geniuses solution for rear hoses on mine.. and the "after" I patched it.

I have the same, except mine is much more jagged. Looks like it was done with a can opener. I can see the condensor(?...evaporator?) through it.

Ok, thanks. Just to weld it together then. I have a dondor body that has the vent and all in it, so that should be an easy fix. So there are actually worse cutouts around?

Mine looked almost exactly the same. The AC was supposedly put in at the dealer (it was the VPC AC unit which has the large smugglers box cover.) You're fine to cover it up.
