Parts and Accessories Sources
Looking for suggestions where I can find accessories, upgrades, etc for a '83 911 Cabriolet. Purchased some stuff recently from Performance Part/Automotion and have a feeling I grossly overpaid. Pelican, for example, has the front nose chin/spoiler for $100 cheaper?

Robert where did you find that link ? I'll loose 3-4 days of my life looking at all that stuff. Might have to save it till it snows up here.
vesnyder ......... Stick right here a www.pelicanparts.com. for parts. I bought a 77 Carrera 3.0 last fall. I 've put about half what I paid for it back into it. I have 5-6 Porsche parts catalogs. Started buying a little from everyone. I usually buy 4 - 5 items at once. I you want to waste your time you might beat Pelican item by item. But I've done the math and usually I come out ahead right here at Pelican. Plus, no one ever talks about the shipping and handling. If you factor that extra cost of buying from multiple sources. It has always saved buying from Pelican. It cracks me up. Someone will talk about saving $3 on a small part. But they spent $10 bucks in shipping and handling to save $3. Credit cards are too easy ......... Plus the value this BBS brings to everyone, isn't measurable, IMHO. Where esle can you get 6 -10 people to help you on Sunday afternoon. Hands covered is grease, and pulling your hair out. Wayne and Tom's business model is a true internet business. Just in time inventory. Being in Southern CA. Most of the suppliers are close. So they can get just about anything. If you don't see it here in one of the online catalogs. Don't be lazy ( like I was ) .....call or E-Mail Tom and his folks in the Customer Service dept. As for performance upgrades. If your going to start exercising your car like it was meant to be used. You need to build/start a relationship with a performance tuner in your area. Go to someone that builds race cars., and their cars finish races at the top of chart. IMHO Some things you can do yourself. And some is best left to the pros. You can waste a lot of $$$$ making upgrades that do nothing for your car. And or harm your car and drivetrain making the wrong ones. Good Luck and Have Fun.......
