67 911S suspension bushing
I am restoring a 67 911s. The problem is the front A arm bushings need to be replaced. The short wheelbase A arms are NLA even if you were willing to pay the big $. The weltmiester bushings(which are not ideal for the street) are not made for short wheelbase cars. The bushings were made as part as the A arm from Porsche,so a replacement bushings are not available seperatly. Anyone have any good ideas??

I also will be facing this issue soon with the later long wheel base A-arms as I don't want to replace the entire arm. I read a hint (I think it was in a recent Pano - from Bruce anderson?) that the OEM 914 A-arm bushings may be a direct fit for the LWB A-arm bushings. I haven't taken the time to research this possibility though. One would have to drill out the old bushings, clean the bore and press/glue-in the new bushings. This route may also be available for the SWB A-arms. Also, I know rubber may be machined on a lathe if one freezes it with liquid nitrogen. Then an oversize bushing could be turned to the correct dimensions. Although this method isn't feasible for DIY's and most machine shops I'm wondering if one of the dry ice cooling methods would also work. What one needs to do is get a set (front and rear may be different) of OEM 914 rubber bushings and compare their dimensions with one of sets of hard plastic after market bushings. Just some ideas.

There is a possibility that the Neatrix rubber bushings may be available soon, as the fronts were 'pre-announced' last year, but haven't come out yet. You may want to get in touch with them to see when/if their availability is imminent.

67s bushings
Thanks guys for the input. Warren, I have spoken to Automotion, the marketers of the netrix. They are not happening! Project developement abandoned. This is the only brick wall I have run into on any part for a early 911. Any other ideas???

Aaaah, I was looking into that too, with the '67 911. The only thing I've found is complete A-arms with the bushings, I believe (if I remembered correctly.)

You can use the readily available polyurethane bushings made for the later ('68 and later) arms..if you don't mind a doing a little work to make them fit. Here's a detailed description: http://www.geocities.com/the912guy/Page_10x.htm

Oh poopstain. I looked, and they were 911/912E suspension A-arms for 1969-1989 cars......Bushings are included (rubber.) Found these in my most recent Performance Products catalog.
