wood facia
I have done a few searches and looked at a lot of 71 interiors. I only have seen basketweave. Is this a stock option on my car? Is this wood "real" if it is. I hate it but might like it if i sand and re stain to make lighter. Otherwise going with brushed aluminum or similar.
I have seen wood on early 911s then the fake stuff later ect... thanks for comments. ![]()

Don,
Your 71 should have basket weave in place of the wood in the bright dipped aluminum trim Our host has it for sale. The Aluminum trim should be held on with double sided tape, be careful not to bend it when you remove it. The vinyl is just glued into the grove of the trim, and raps around each pieces end by about 5mm. Hope that helps

my '73.5 has the wood - may be an aftermarket thing I keep seeing them on mid-70's cars... |

1965 and 1966 911's had wood dash trim as standard. After 1966, wood wasn't available.
