Clutch chatter
I noticed a clutch squeaky noise that I'm sure is coming from the clutch cable inside the tube that runs over the accelerator cable. When I bend this, the squeal goes away, but I can't permantely keep it this way. Any ideas? Should I take the whole thing apart -- what about greasing the cable?
Thanks Dave |

I believe you need to do an adjustment. It may be necessary to disconnect at the pedal end and take up some slack there. The tube that goes to the fire wall must be bent under pressure so that the clutch cable stays out of the way of the accelerator pedal. Grease is nice, but that tube must be bowed under pressure.

I've done the adjustment and still have the squeal. I did the adjustment initially because the cable was really loose. Now it is nice and tight, but still hear the squeal -- though not as loud.
