3.2 Motronic ?

Vehicle: '89 3.2 in '74 911 w/915, MSD fired, converting from CIS fuel mgt. back to original Motronic fuel mgt.

Now the ? Do I only need one pulse sender since I do not have cruise control? If that is the case and I use the OEM pulse sensor support that has two sensor mounting holes....which opening should I use? The one nearest 12 o'clock high.

Are you talking about the speed and reference senders? You need them both, as well as the cylinder head temp sensor.

If the speed sensor is for the speedometer I do not need it as my 915 drives the speedo via cable. I have the #3 cyl head sensor in place. I need to locate a decent wiring diagram for this project. The wiring harness I have had a off-shoot of about five wires cut off.

The speed sensor is not for the speedometer. It is for the motronics.

Also, you need both sensors whether or not the car has cruise control.

The motronics brain needs input from BOTH sensors to operate.

Motronic Sensors

As mentioned earlier, you need both sensors on the flywheel. One sensor is the timing sensor(TDC) and the other is the crankshaft speed sensors. Both are needed by the DME. There are of course other sensors you need such as the cylinder head temperature sensor, throttle position switches, O2 sensor, air flow sensor, and intake air temp. sensor.
