Is this rear deck repairable?

I have leather rear deck ( and dash ) that have shrunken and warped over the years. The dash is shot so I am looking for a new core to recover or dye. But my question is, can the rear deck be salvaged. Is there any way to straighten this out? The leather is in great condition, other than dry, can any combination of healthy doses of leatherique, wrapped in plastic, steam, etc, allow be to bring this back in shape. The underside of the deck appears to be two layers, which appear to be of a plastic type material. Any tips or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hey Newf,

How did your seats turn out ?
Just curious,is leatherique good for leather dashes as well to prevent shrinking ?

Regards !

Thumbs up on the Leatherique.

The seats turned out beautifully........you be the judge. They are 26 years old and look new. Softened up the leather and brightened the colour in my opinion. Very Impressed. And yes the leatherique is highly recommended for anything leather to prevent from losing its natural moisture and shrinking. Great Product.

Newf,

Thank you for the update,i'm going to purchase some Leatherique as soon as my car comes out of the garage and i could leave it in the sun to do the leather treatment in three weeks or so.The black sport seats in my 89 Coupe are still in perfect condition and i`d like to keep them that way for another 20 years ... lol

Snow's almost gone here and i'm in the middle of a brake, torsion bar and suspension bushing upgrade, hopefully i'll be done soon !

Cheers
Phil
