Not sure what to think yet. I don't think I like the idea of Porsche making an SUV.
Any thoughts???

I assume you are talking about the Porsche SUV.
I have not seen it , am not interested in it, nor would ever buy it.. if there is a demand for it , I am all for it having its own area sure! Just sounds so un-Porsche, even the ML's look funny to me...ist a sell out, or cash in .. whatever ya like to call it.

The world as I understand it is collapsing! The 911 was replaced by a rear engined 928, and now THIS!

I like the looks of it, but not the picture that is showed here. I like the more recent pics.
I don't like the idea of Porsche making an SUV, but there isn't anything we can do about it. They are a company that is about making money. Only thing that will stop them from making it is if no one buys one, and we all know that isn't going to happen. Porsche, through and through Tim '83 944 ![]() My Photo Page My Home Page |

A lot of yapping at nothing.
If Porsche can sell a whole bunch of these things, it's good for everybody. Maybe then there will be more money in the kitty to fund a decent racing program. Get the picture?

I really don't think there is a market for a Porsche SUV - but I may be wrong. They have a great chassis with the 911 and lots of experience making all-wheel-drive. I just can't see that they have enough of a market to justify the R&D and manufacturing costs. After all, Mercedes, BMW and Volvo have the high end of the SUV market tied up.

Go to the Porsche website and click on the Cayanne. Then go to the bloodlines section. I get excited every time I see one of the Dakar 959s and think about the Cayanne. I hated the idea of an SUV at first, but am growing to like it. And if this brings them back into rallying, man I might have to buy one, $80000 later.

As an FYI, most dealers already have more preorders than they know what to do with. The 1% market that will purchase this SUV are already coming out in droves. You know what, for Porsche's sake, I do hope it is a successful line, as long as they do not forget where it came from.
