chain box question.......
Hello all.
In removing my chain tensioners tonight, I found that the pin in which the chain idler rotates on is quite loose in its bore. How "normal" is this condition? There is no plug on the backside of the chainbox to keep oil from leaking out. Is there supposed to be? The chainbox cover has a plug kind of like a freeze pug. Can anyone elaborate on this? Thanks again, Chris |
that pin should be super tight .see if the wheel support bushing is worn
i have new wheel supports for either side.50.00ea did you say there is leaking oil coming from the pin that holds the wheel support . those pins are expoyed on the back to seal them .sounds like the pin is moving and has broken the epoxy seal. you would have to take the chain housing off to re epoxy them . but if the pin has worn the bore you might need a new housing don,t worry about that frost looking plug its nothing. i have everything you need to do the job . gaskets , tensioners ,chain ramps, timing chains, ect , cheap. let me know @ lonewolf 930@hotmail.com |
If the pin is loose its time for a new chain housing (box); you can buy new but there are good used ones to be had.:( Jim
