New heater blower installed
I replaced the heater blower on my ’88 today using a new motor for a 74-83 Porsche 911. I ordered the motor from Pelican (911-624-141-02-PH). To use this motor on a later 911, you need to modify the plug. Here’s how I did it.
The first plan was to take the wires and plug from the old motor and swap them into the new motor. After a bit of disassembly, it was apparent that this was not a workable solution. Here’s the old motor next to the new motor. ![]() What I ended up doing was something much simpler. I carefully took both plugs apart, and reassembled the old plug on the new motor. As you can see in the photo below, the cover simply snaps off the old plug. Unsoldering the prongs is then pretty straight forward. ![]() Dissasembling the new plug is even easier. You simply unlock the spades with a small screwdriver, and pull them out. Unfold the crimped end of the spades using pliers, and you’ll be left with just the wires. ![]() Then you simply solder the old prongs on the new wires and snap the black cover back on. Here's what it looked like right before the cover went on. I used a bit of shrink tubing to guard against possible shorts. ![]() Oh, one last thing, the ground wire on both motors is brown. I hope this post helps someone out in the future.

Can you confirm that P/N as I don't seem to be able to find it through a parts search.

One tip....make sure the the wiring polarity is correct. Either way you will get air output from the blower but you will get much more when the wiring is correct.
