Is there such a thing as "paint filler"

I have a couple of areas on my bodywork ('72 T) where the paint has been scraped off down to the metal. These areas are approximately 1" x 1/4". The metal is not harmed. What is the best way to prepare this for (re-)painting? Just sand it to feather it in? Or is there such a thing as a filler that can be used to raise the level to match the existing paint then sand to smooth?

Thanks!

feather prime and repaint....depending on where it is on the panel and the paint used, you may be able to have the area spotted in.

Thanks stormmaster.

"...spotted in" ---was ist das? Does that mean they could paint just that spot and not the whole panel? The spots i am refering to are actually on the front bumper.
