Need some advice and help
 

So I purchased a 1969 porsche 911. It was in great condition when I bought it with no rust. It had been owned by one family who let it sit in a garage for 7 years with all fluids drained. The owner said it started fine and ran fine before it was stored. When I got it I cleaned out the carbs, replaced a bad CDI box with MSD 6 AL, replaced all rubber fuel lines, new oil, new filters, new cap/points/rotor on orginal marralli distributor,and new battery. Lights work and starter is good. I can hear the car click over and try to start and even crank bBut right now it still wont start up. I want to take it to a shop but don't want to get ripped off by them doing a bunch of unnecessary tests. So:

1.) Any quick suggestion on solution to the problem?
2.) What tests should I get ran if I take it to a shop?

Situations such as these require the basics:

Batteries & cables. You cannot proceed to the steps below if the engine doesn't crank easily. Check battery voltages, ALL cables and grounds including the one on the transmission crossmember under the car. Every connection must be bright, shiny & clean. :)

1) Ignition: Got spark at the plugs while cranking?

2) Fuel: Do the carbs squirt fuel through the accelerator pump jets when the linkage is opened up?

3) Compression: did you do a compression test

You don't mention plugs, but i assume you have pulled the old ones and squirted some Marvel Mystery Oil or similar in the cylinders and turned it over by hand several times. If not do so, as things are going to be very dry in there after 7 years.
If the motor turns freely by hand i'd leave the plugs out for now and try the starter. With a new battery it should spin over easily if not clean all the connections and grounds.
Once you have it turning over good wind some new plugs in and check for spark and fuel.
