Cool New to BB and Porsche with a question

Good Day Everyone and Happy Thanksgiving. I am a new Porsche owner of an old 911S (76). It only has 50,000 miles on the car (it's been my stepfathers for 21 years). I just replaced the fuel pump on the car and everything was great. Then I ran out of gas!

Now the car will not idle properly, and stalls everytime I take my foot of the accelorator. HELP!

Just a WAG, but you may have sucked 25 years of nasty from the bottom of the gas tank. There is a screen at the outlet of the tank and, of course, your fuel filter. Either or both may be clogged. May have been some water, also....hope not.

Thanks JP, just wondering if this screen at the outlet of the tank is accessable, and if it's a something I can clean on my own or would you reccomend taking it to a mechanic? Bad break as I just put in a new fuel filter with the new pump.
