Buyer Looking For 1978-1983 911 SC
I also posted this message on rennlist.
Here's my situation: I had originally found my dream 911SC and it was sold last Saturday. I was dumb and waited just too long. And the owner and the car was only 5 minutes from my damn house. So I feel really, really stupid. Yes, I know it's good to look at other cars, test drive other cars, and do tons of research, but I feel that I lost out on my dream car (and trust me, it was quite a nice car). I don't want a concours winner which will set me back $20k. I want a solid car that has been treated right! I have looked pretty much everywhere (every classifieds section on every region of the PCA), rennlist classifieds, cars.com, autotrader.com, carbuyer.com, pelicanparts.com, porsche-classifieds.com, and even eBay). If anybody has an SC which fits the following requirements, email me at hopkinskid@hotmail.com or post a reply: 1978-1983 911SC Targa preferred Requirements: Price: 11k-15k, but higher if the car's right. Mileage: Any mileage under 125k, but if it's between 100k-125k miles, rebuilt engine (top end rebuild, new head studs, valve job, etc) is VERY highly preferred. Tranny / Clutch: For 100k+ miles, preferably rebuilt tranny and clutch. SC Updates: Carerra tensioners, spring centered clutch, popoff valve Other requirements: Clean VIN, pass compression (160s) / leakdown (5-8% ok) tests (PPI, at my expense, of course), cylinder studs ok, good history/receipts, no oil/tranny oil leaks, rust-free, nice interior/exterior. I know I may be asking for a lot and looking for a perfect car, but I appreciate any replies and comments. Thanks in advance, Warren |

Warren-
I have an 82 911SC you may be interested in. Actually, I don't have the car listed for sale, but I am thinking of trading up to a newer 993. My 82 has close to 132k miles, but has been well treated. It has great compression, new injectors, fuel pump, and several new items I wanted to tweek the CIS. I just installed a new heater blower, and serviced the A/C, upgrading the compressor, replacing the blower fans and evaporator. The car was professionally repainted about 18 months ago, killer arena red, and the seats have been reupholstered to match the exterior. New carpeting and door panels were added. The seats have the PORSCHE crest sewn into the headrest and the words "PORSCHE 911SC" sewn in below. The seats are the envy of our local PCA. The wheels have been upgraded to the newer turbo C2, with new tires. The car is my weekend tharapy. I will let it go for $16,000.00 |
