Excuse me! I am busy. Today I've.... Well I've thought about alot of things. True I haven't actually done anything. I tell a lie, I moved the receptionists car for her because it's raining. Yes I'm an IT guy. |
|
Does it count if I'm a jobless IT guy and I haven't done anything today?? BTW, if anyone wants to pay someone to configure, install and otherwise play with Cisco routers or switches......SmileWavy |

Not_Sure, I'm a Network Administrator as well. Well, I would be if my boss wasn't away for a few days and I actually did something. I'm not MCSE or anything but I do have a CNA. I setup LANs including file servers switches hubs routers. Install apps and helpdesk workstations. My present job I get payed NZD$45,000, a job I had previously I got payed NZD$55,000 (per annum) which is about USD$25,000. I guess the conversion doesn't mean much as I earn and spend here (other than buying Pelican Parts stuff). But, how much would I earn in the US - I'm very average at what I do? Bill '79SC |

Bill, I have moved on to playing with Oracle, Unix and a product called FileNet. This pays a lot better then when I was a network admin which paid about 40K, I think you can get better pay then that but I was new to network stuff. I to was very busy surfing PP and other P-Car related sites today. Happy Thanksgiving to all. |

I am to busy! Juggling the Pelican BBS reload button, taking long lunch breaks and keeping up with an ongoing conversation via email with a friend of mine has kept me very busy today. Almost beer-thirty. I'm pooped. |

Hmmm, hard day so far. 18 holes of golf, sushi lunch and a few beers. Oh, gee, look at the time, almost time for a nap before I hang my new Porsche flag. -Brad 80SC |

IT Project Manager Consultant - sitting around since October. Too wet for yard work. Garage too small for car work. PCar doesn't do rain. Life's a *****! Thank god for the Tech Forum and Wayne! |

OK not_sure, mister "Is anyone else bored", I hold you personally responsible for my mail server crashing at 4pm on the day before a 4 day weekend. I ended up leaving work at almost 8pm, didn't make it to Harbor Freight to get the rest of the crap I need to start my clutch project. I hope you are proud of yourself :D Tom |

Overdose of the nineties You know you've had an overdose of nineties when: - You're trying to enter a password to your microwave oven. - You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years. - You have 15 phone numbers where you can reach your 3 family members - You send email to your co-worker, who happens to work at the cubicle next to you - You chat in the internet with a person who lives in Antarctica several times a day, but you haven't changed a word with your neighbour (this year). - The reason for not being in contact to some of your friends is that they don't have an email. - Your idea of order are different colour 3M tags on your desk - Most of the jokes you hear, come through an email - After a long day at work, you answer to phone at home the same way you did while you were at work - You've been working at the same desk for four years, but have been serving 3 different companies. - Your job application is saved on a disk, which is in your pocket. - You hear about you getting fired on the evening news. - Its dark when you drive to work, and dark when you go home - including summers. - Your screensaver tells exactly how many days you have until retirement. - Holdays are something, that you postpone next year. - Your family and relatives think you actually work with the computers - You know your children only by looks, because their pictures are on your cubicle wall. Final proof of overdose: - You read the whole list and smiled and nodded all the time. - While you were reading this list, you were thinking of "friends" who to sent it to, with email. ........... |

It was so bad in our office the Oracle DBA`s had a football game going in the parking lot. Its not that I did not want to work, but its hard to do anything when no one else is around. |
