Does this look normal? - clutch / omega
Hi Guys,
My symptoms are a heavy clutch in 77 911. I jacked up the car to look at the helper spring and levers - i would love to hear if things look normal in these pictures. Thanks Chris ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Looks pretty normal to me. Check the spring on the clutch pedal itself.

It looks to me like the omega spring is not "over the hump", so too speak.
At rest, it should almost touch the heat exchanger. You may not be getting any of the spring action which would cause a heavy pedal. Also, that clutch cable looks in need of replacing. The rubber boot is torn which will let dirt in and corrosion will start. The cable itself could be causing some problems as well. Check this out for what it should look like.Clutch Auxiliary Return Spring aka Horseshoe Spring or Omega Spring

You should make sure the arm is greased and moves on the shaft. It looks like it is hanging up.
