Will 993 doors fit long hood cars?
If not, what is the technical difference or are there any modifiable limitations? Window-winder mounting holes, latch and hinge points the same, etc?
I am looking for a pair of rough doors to gut, lighten and reskin in fiberglass, wondering if a 993 pair for sale locally will fit my 72 coupe. Thanks Last edited by 70SWT; 02-14-2010 at 04:19 AM.. |

I'm pretty confident they will. The quarters fit and the lock posts are now the same parts. This being said, I have never actually tried to fit 993 doors on my car but my '68 doors fit well with the 993 quarters (with the stock lock posts in place)

If they are effectively the same, it's very interesting. The 964 was supposed to be 85% new or whatever, then the 993 came out after that - yet the doors will fit an old long hood? The 911 was truly an evolutionary design.
