grey alternator duct nessesary?
is the grey fiberglass duct on the back of the alternator really nessesary? i'm using the early engine shroud w/o the oil cooler duct (no engine oil cooler, front mount oil tank) and it has the vanes on the inside of the shroud, not on the duct.
thanks!

I understand that they help cool the center cylinders on each bank.

There are many racers out there who have left it off with seemingly no ill effects. I would keep it (and I have) because it has 2 fins on it that direct the air to the left side (drivers side) cylinders.
