Caliper Dust Seal Question
I removed the dust seals from my calipers but they we so disintegrated I am not really sure how to reassemble. It would appear on the Pelican parts list the seal is installed first then the metal retaining ring just lays in front. It doesn't have a groove to snap in so I don't really see what holds it in place.

Ok, I think I am wanting to install the rubber seal backwards. The concave surface of the seal should face foward, towards the rotor. Then, the metal ring will fit inside the seal. Thanks.

metal ring goes outside the seal. once all back together, you should be able to see the metal ring.

You don't say whether you are doing the fronts or rears. They are different. The fronts have a ring that goes on after the boot is in place, the rears have it integrated.
You might post a picture of what you have and what you're trying to do. Also, check the Tech Articles section which demonstrates a number of handy repair tips with photos.

I should have noted this is an new seal kit being installed on the front brakes. Thanks for all the input just need to confirm the direction of the seal. Does the concave or cup side face backwards or forwards towards the rotor.

your question is strange - post picture - should be obvious the direction of seal. There is a lip that fits over the "wall" sticking up on the caliper, then you easily put the "ring" over it, checking that all is fully down and lined up. If you are still having questions and need a picture I can make and post.
