Help me choose the look (SC)
Dear All,
My car came with a set of 71/2x17" and 9"x 17" turbo twister wheels fitted which really filled out the guards nicely. However it steers better on the standard 6" and 7"x 16" Fuchs I have fitted. Dilemna: Go with the stock look or the meaner twisters ? What do you think ? Regards, Philliphttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1266292147.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1266292192.jpg |
I am no expert but I think I would rather have the car with its original steering geometry. I think to sacrifice safety for opinionated looks is kind of foolish. You have a beautiful car and I like the look of the twisters on it though. JMHO

I think these cars look best with Fuchs - the twists look oddly out of place. If you must have 17s, get some Altons (Zuffenhaus).

Never really liked the twists but on that top picture they look pretty good. Maybe its the air damn or great color. I'd stick with a polished set of fuchs with black classic centers in mid gloss.

I've never liked twist wheels. Porsche didn't even take the time to make LH and RH versions, which really seems silly to me. Fuchs, all the way!

NO twists
YES fuchs |
The twists look goofy.
Stick with the Fuchs. Sell the twists and get a set of 7"(8") and 9" Fuchs. |
I´d have to give my vote to the Fuchs. I just get the impression from looking at them that they belong on your car and they match the black trim and the lip spoiler. The twisters look out of place

For a local opinion I prefer the Fuchs. I think an original look is far more desirable, although a little tweaking is fine in my book.
I used to have an SC will fully polished Fuchs but on my current one (10 years gap between cars) I decided to shine up the std finish by polishing the rims and leaving the centres. This is less bling but with the same impact I was looking for with the wheels. Here's a pic of the polished result. I think the twists are wrong. Nice car by the way, a shiny red 911 is always easy on the eye .... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1266315201.jpg |
the twisters are just wrong on a accordion bumper car. the fuchs all the way, maybe add the rock guard "shark tail" or a carrera decal both removable and will maybe give you a different look. im not a red car guy but your car looks great on the stockers.

fuches all the way!!! the only other wheel I would consider on an impact would be Rufs which i think can look great, heavy but great. |
The twisty's on your car look good because of the contrast. Consider polishing the Fuchs pedals. It makes the wheels pop.

Sorry but twists are ugg's on all cars. Worse on an SC.
Fuchs. I love the Dunlop Z1's. Great high performance tire worthy of a Porsche that dose everything very well. |
Fuchs!

Check with Buckterrier on here,....He has a set of 17'' Fuchs for sale very reasonable.

+18. Fuchs.
7x16, 215/55x16 front, 8x16, 245/50x16 rear. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1266345754.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1266345787.jpg The 9x16 in the rear work well on track but look ‘too wide’ to my lame ‘old-school’ eye. Best, Grady |
