911 Door Rattle

Had some body work done requiring both doors on my 87 911 cabriolet removed. Put the doors back on and aligned them. When I close the passenger door the latch catches and the door closes securely with absolutely no play.

The driver door also catches and closes well but I am still able to move the door with a slight woble when I shake it. There is a little give to the door and I am afraid when I drive the door may start vibrating and become an irratant. Is there some adjustment that I am overlooking relating to the latch or something that will keep the door closed solidly once shut with absolutely no play or give.

Any assistance willl be greatly appreciated

The only thing i know of that will permit adjusting is the Striker / catch on the pillar. I think you'll need a 12 point driver, not sure of the size, but my bentley manual shows it allows some lateral and vertical movement, but I don't have any skill in this area to impart other than trial an error.

The latch in the door itself doesn't permit any adjustment (my experience is limited to having had removed, cleaned and lubed this). hope this helps.

Steely:

I did adjust the striker /catch and that helped somewhat. But there still is a little movement when you push the door in and out (shake it). Thanks for letting me know you cannot adjust the latch in the door because that is what i was looking towards as a remedy

check the window guide rail / vent window frame at the very bottom , inside the door .
there is a small bracket held by a 6mm Allen bolt , they always crack. good luck
