I gave Permatune a bad rap!

I WAS having a hot start problem.At first I thought it was getting no fuel. I tested the fuel pump which passed with flying colors. I then bench tested my coil which did test slightly low But it was the first time I ever used a ohm meter. It did test out at 625ohms.I but probably not bad. I replaced coil with a spare that tested out good.A coil/transformer That is correct for Bosch CD. I then installed a perm remote starter switch so I can test my problems by my self.THANKX WARREN!! Then it died hot..With no spark.."REMOTE STARTER SWITCH COOL" I thought for sure it was the Permtune. I was thinking about MSD I even bought one and took it bck because I thought it looked to big in a tight engine bay.I talked to Jeff Gamroth at Rothsport.Who Builds Porsche race cars. He said Permatunes dont fail. Infact he said they are pretty hard to beat. So I tore into my Harness and replaced the blue white wire to points reblaced the wire to distributer. I cleaned the conection on the dist. The male connector was not very shinney. I also removed the dist and checked all the grounds.Result runs smoother quieter and no more hot starting problems with minamal cost.. I am sorry for Bashing Permatune on this board. Mybee sometimes they get a rap for being bad when infact people are to lazy to check things out right! Wayne Savage
