Installing CARRERA emblem

I painted the rear lid and need to install a new Carrera emblem. Any suggestions on the process? Location how to properly attach?

This place never fails to impress. Of course that link has a post of a Porsche document telling you EXACTLY where it should be placed...................

Don't use glue. I'd use a few small, custom-cut pieces of 3M super sticky double sided body/emblem tape on the ends and a few in the middle. IMO no need to knock yourself out making a tracing of the script in double sided tape. Just a few pieces to hold it securely. Makes it easier to take off in the future if you want to clean around it or take it off altogether.

If it's a new badge, there should be double sided tape on the back already.

The new script already has sticky tape on the back side. Nothing else is required.

yeah, it's sticky tape, not glue.

also, spray some windex on the decklid before setting the emblem down. this will give it some "slip" so you can position it. when the windex dries, it is stuck down.

otherwise you only get "one shot" at getting it perfect.

I made a cardboard cut-out template the same size as the badge.
Just trace around the badge and cut the card board to match. The closer the fit the better.

Positioned it on the lid, taped it down and then dropped the badge into place.
Worked perfectly!

That's EXCELLENT advice. Spend 5-10 extra minutes making a template, guarantee it'll be perfect. Nice.
