Flying Objects
 

I'm re-thinking the radar detector idea, since I am really not a habitual speeder. On the other hand, does anyone else have trouble with flying objects ont he interior of their car. Perhaps our roads have more curves than other parts of the country, but.... I'm thinking it may be a little ironic that I don't speed (much), but I cannot just place personal effects on the seat next to me. They fly off within the first two miles. Objects on the left passenger floor immediately get under my feet. This car has certainly forced me to be more tidy about my car's interior. Does anyone else have to protect themselves from flying objects inside the car?

I just throw my empty coke cans on the floor in the back and that seems to work. A bit embarassing if I ever have a rear seat passenger, it's bad enough trying to fit in the back let alone sharing it with about a hundred empty coke cans. http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/smile.gif

I can't stand driving in my cars for any length of time with stuff inside that isn't bolted, screwed or strapped down.

If you need to carry a lot of crap w/ you regularly, the best bet is to get a good soft briefcase, knapsack or duffel bag and keep it in the trunk where it can't injure or annoy you!

My wife and I are polar opposites on this point--most of the disorder in the house is due to me (MOST). However her truck's interior looks like a trailer park after a tornado. Things in the cabin of my 911 that aren't bolted down or otherwise permanently attached:
Carpets
CD case (in the glove box)
Car cover (behind driver's seat)
Windshield shade (on the "cargo shelf")
Bookbag (for work; behind passenger's seat)
Me
Passenger

I often catch my wife trying to dispose of receipts or Coke bottles/cans on the floor of the 911. She gets a stern talking-to when that happens!

Does anyone else's S.O. methodically pull hairs out of his/her own scalp and drop them on the floor? I catch my wife doing this way too often. Of course, she gets a stern talking-to then as well.

You're forgetting Bill: we have a whole different set of gravitational rules down here; that's why our Porsches stick down so much harder than our US counterpoints.

Dr Porsche was savvy enough to recognise this phenomenon when he added bumber overrider lead weights on the earliest of 911's destined for the ROW & US spec-ed cars....

Nah, we usually take the 911--I like to scare the bejeezus out of her on the entrance/exit ramps.

Now that's just mean! :-)

I've never been much for clutter, and the Targa cured me of what little impulse I had. You only have to lose a new magazine or important slip of paper once to get the message that open-top + 80 mph = hurricane conditions. The surprising part is the lift - stuff I figured was way too heavy or un-aerodynamic to blow out of the car has managed to so do quite nicely, thanyouverymuch. The car now has me, a Targus backpack in the rear, and a cupholder. Everything else in there stays because the gang in Stuttgart told it to.
