Porsche Crest 1977 Engine Area Heater Motor??

Seems my heater blower motor in the engine compartment is not working. Checked the fuse and OK. Am getting power to the fuse block.

Wanted to jumper it with 12v to see if it works but could not find a connector in the harness. Appears hardwired in.

Any thoughts on how to check??? Do not have a wiring diagram. Is there a control switch of some sort near the handles that you pull up on at the E brake that might have failed that might need replacing???

If I have to replace can I just purchase the motor only?????

my stock blower had elec connectors a few inches from housing

unless you need low mph windshield defrosters dump the system and backdate

especially if you need a new expensive motor

To check out the motor in place, you will need to make up some jumper wires to get 12 volts into the connector at the motor. You can get to a 12 volt source at the relay panel in the engine compartment at the 3-fuse block, and use any convenient ground point in the engine area. You may need at the least, a test light to find a "hot" connection.

(Shameless plug: If you find the blower is toast, I have a good used blower I would sell.)

Or back date the heat as Ron suggests, but this won't be cheap either....

+1 regarding Ronin's suggestion. Worked for me.

Pulled the motor yesterday. Jumpered it with 12v and guess what.....does not work.

Taking it to a local electrical motor rebuilder for quote.

PO hard wired it in. No connectors what so ever. Will correct. Not a bad job to remove.

Anyone have the duct between the motor housing and the engine they would like to sell??

Mine is OK but would like one in better shape. Has a few pin holes and along with cracks where you clamp it in place
