Feel like an idiot, but trouble removing wiper blades...
 

I've got a replacement set of Bosch wiper blades for my '87 Carrera coupe that I purchased from our host, and I'm trying to remove the old blades prior to installing the new ones. This should be simple, but I'm having trouble removing the old blades. The instructions that came with the blades are useless and the Bosch web site is even less helpful. I thought there was supposed to be a tab somewhere that needed to be depressed to release the old blade, but I can't seem to locate it. I feel like a complete dumba$$ but figured someone here could stop laughing long enough to point me in the right direction. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...leys/blush.gif

No worries--I just changed mine on the 911 but couldn't swap them out on my wife's Mercedes...

First thing I'd do is fold the wiper arms up away from the glass and try to pull the wipers down and away from the bend in the arm itself. Sometimes they'll slide out without pressing a tab. If that doesn't work, most times a slothead screwdriver can be used as a wedge in the arm to "press" the wiper "release" and then you can pull them off.

Fallback is always available--just slip out the old rubber blade, leaving the old wiper holder in place, and slide in the new rubber.

As david said, lift arm away from the screen and then pivot the blade so that it is 90degs to the arm, you should now see some sort of little tab that clips into a slot on the wiper arm, press or pull this tab while pulling the blade down the arm in the direction of your windshield.

Replace in reverse of removal and suddenly enjoy a whole new feeling that the blades give while its raining, no more streaky windshield - almost feels like a new car now :D

Just had the blades on my 88 changed last week and watched closely. Should have made a video! On mine, there was indeed a little clip at the very end of the blade that you have to pull back a bit to get out of the slot before the blade would slip off. The bit looked more like the bent end of a bobby pin than a tab, if that helps at all! Good luck, let us know once you work it out!
