Question re:reusing needle bearings in 901 trans refresh

I understand there's typically no issue reusing the needle bearings during a refresh of the transmission as long as you put them in the same location. Otherwise, you risk noise and premature wear. Unfortunately, the needle bearings from the gear carried by the shift shaft cover fell out and now I don't know how they were oriented. Big deal? If so, is there a way I might deduce which bearing went where?

Bill, The order of those bearings will not matter. They support the reverse idler gear and I don't think you will be driving hard enough in reverse to worry about the long term load issues. Or maybe you will...

Don't forget the spacer between the bearings and the thrust washer at the end...

I like doing 80 mile an hour donuts in reverse. Will that be a problem?
Thanks for the reply.
