Whats a 1970 911T worth

Hello I am new to this posting thing, so I would like to apologize now for my stupidity. I found a 1970 911T that has 300,000 miles on it, was painted Silver in the 80's (I do not know the original color or interior color/condition yet. The owner might be willing to sell it but the car currently has not run in 10 years and the engine needs to be rebuild. The owner bought the parts 10+ years ago and has not touched the car since. I do not want to over pay for the car and figured asking on this board would be my best way on finding a price. Thank you

Rust is your biggest factor on a car like this, rusty 5k or less, no rust 8-12k depending on paint and cosmetics. 10 years sitting and needing a engine, you are gonna be 10-15k into it if you got it for free.

One way to look at this is that when you are done a '70T driver will be worth $20-30K depending on how good a job you do on the restoration. The question then, are you better off finding a car ready to drive?

If you go down the "I want to do it myself" road, good for you saving one, but know that the costs will vary largely by the current condition of the car.

Here's some thoughts on the value of a '72T along with plenty of pics. Might be a helpful read:

Good luck.

pictures of the body, undercarriage and motor would go a long ways towards helping you with a ballpark figure.

I will try to post pictures soon. He says he has 2.2L 911E pistons and cylinders that will go with the car. The car is in good shape but the front seats will need to be reupholstered, the steering wheel looks worn out and the door panels are a mess. The engine bay is dirty and the fan looks corroded. I took a picture of underneath the engine and it's caked with oil. There is some surface rust in the battery area but I would say it's bad or would need to be replaced, but I do not know. The headliner has one crack and a few stain marks. The tires all have flat spots and the front two have cracked through. I am assuming I would also have to rebuild the transmission, which is a 5 speed, go through the brakes, buy tires, and rebuild the engine to make it road worthy. The paint is in great shape with a few light scratches and the hood has some road rash. There did not appear to be any rust at all underneath the car. The current owner is the second owner and has had the car since 1971. It is a so-cal car and appears to be accident free.

keep in mind the floor pan rarely tells the rust picture with these cars. front pan (battery area) is a given to have to replace. scary rust repair would be rockers, lower doors, bottom corners of windows.
