It's on Gateway but when you get there you will see it. It's at the Ford/Mazda building parking lot.

I'd suggest just looking for the Porsches. They tend to be a little bit scattered around, not all in one spot. Go early, as cars are leaving by 8:30 or 9:00.
Google this to download it into your Garmin: 7905 Gateway Blvd Irvine, CA 92618 Have fun, JR Last edited by javadog; 02-11-2010 at 06:39 AM.. |

Thx JR... me & the whole family are visiting "hopefully" sunny & warm San Diego for a week...I plan to go to Ed Hughes' for his engine drop and do as much Porsche stuff as I can fit in... Lots of other stuff we all want to do...****cula(sp) wine region...SD Zoo...breakfast on the battleship on the SD harbor...we all just hope for no rain & nice weather from all of the cold & snow we have been experiencing of late here in the Northeast...
Any ideas of places to hit or something I can do for you while I am out there, let me know or drop me a pm... Bob

When I was in LA a few months ago, I stopped by some of the more interesting shops out there, to see what they had to offer for sale, to try on a few seats for size, etc. I have some current projects and some future projects and I was able to get a good handle on where to buy some of the things I'll be needing and who might be doing some of the work. So, if I had to suggest something, I'd probably suggest that you visit the places that build the cars that you have liked the most on Pelican. A lot of them are in the LA area.
There are a zillion good places to eat there, too. I'd have every meal planned out... Have fun, JR |

7755 Irvine Center Drive, Irvine CA. I forget the zip.
I used to work there, at Mazda...BTW--it's the Mazda parking lot where the show is, not the old Ford Premier Auto Group lot. The folks who used to work at Ford's PAG parked in the structure beside their building. Just sayin--credit where due.

+1 on Java's "get there early" note. I was in OC last summer on business and hear about C&C, so stayed for the weekend. Arrived at 8:15 or so and cars were already leaving.

Just a curious question: if cars are leaving by 8:30, what time are they showing up? It only gets light there in LA at 7:00 this time of year if I remember, so that means that car guys (& gals) are only hanging around talking about their rides for an hour and a half? Seems peculiar to me.
We've got a Cars & Coffee deal here in the Charlotte NC area (that's only about a year old now) and we hang out from about 8:00 to 11:00 or later. Some of us linger just to hear the supercars drive out. Glad I don't live in OC because I'm not a morning person and would miss the Cars & Coffee! |

It is peculiar. Many cars get there well before sunrise to get a good spot and they do leave just after 8:00. Not all of them, mind you, but a sizeable percentage.
It made no sense to me either but it is what it is... JR |

It's SoCal so much to do --- so little time to do it. Meet the guys for cars & coffee early, go 10 miles down the 5 freeway to San Clemente to go surfing till noon then drive up to Big Bear within a couple hours to get some late afternoon snow skiing/boarding in.
There isn't many places that you can do all that in one day. Enjoy the trip out here.

If you get there by 7 AM, you'll have plenty of time to take it all in. Yes, some start leaving by 8 AM, but the majority stick around until about 8:30 - 9:00. Great show! You will see EVERYTHING there.

OK, totally off-topic question for 911 Tweaks: What's the difference between Plymouth and Plimouth, MA?
You will see more automotive exotica and coolness in one SoCal cars 'n coffee morning, than an entire year in New England. Enjoy.

Thanks a lot everyone... great tips & info here...We all can't wait...I am actually starting to have partial sleepless nights awaking thinking about doing this & that when out in SoCal...
Noah... the spelling as Plimoth is the old puritan English traditinal way...I think a throw back to some old world (europe) reference. There is actually a town in England which has the current spelling as Plymouth which is the way it is spelt here in MA... Long story short, if anyone ever visits Plymouth, MA and visits the waterfront, you will see the reproduction Mayflower boat of what the 1st settlers used to cross the Atlantic way back when. The wood used to make this reproduction boat in England AND the original Mayflower boat made in England, used wood from the forests in Plymouth, England...
