Is this OK to drive on?
Looks like the rubber simply split in half here. Sorry for my lack of identification.
Does this need to be replaced and will I cause any damage if it the car is driven? Please let me know the name of the part so I may order one the next time around with our host. Thanks very much for your help! ![]() ![]() |

That is the tie-rod end. Yes, you can drive the car. I would grab the tie-rod and see if there is any play in the end. If there is any clunk replace much sooner than later.
I bet there are a number of cars with split grease boots on the tie-rod ends.
