well i talked to the shop today and it turns out the order of alternators they got were bad out of the box. so in the next few days i will take the car down to the shop(TRE) and hopefully when i get her back she is 100%.

figured you guys might like to see the CGT, Porsche has really come a long way, but at the end of the day. nothing beats a classic 911.

Looks great. Any engine pics? I see you've already got the required cardboard under the engine. Hope to get my exterior back to that look in a few years. Good Luck with her.

That's actually called a 73.5 T, not a 73T.

Porsche changed the fuel delivery system to CIS during the 73 model year in the T.

Peter Zimmerman, in his Used Porsche Guide, called it Porsche's first '10'. Great car.

You can change your signature, but keep the little sunglasses dude.

Yes the car was recently for sale on ebay. and i was lucky enough to get the car, there were quite a few people trying to get the car.

I just got the certificate of authenticity. and it turns out the interior was originally black so one of these days i will change everything back to black.

so far TRE is a great shop and the people who work their are very friendly and knowledgable.

i have been very lucky and have driven a few very amazing and exotic cars, but none have come close to 15 minutes worth behind the wheel of an old 911. especially a 1973.........5. 911 T.

You got that right, they feel like a go-kart compared to most modern sports cars, short of a GT3Cup Car. :)

As a 1973.5T owner, may I suggest you refer to it as a 1973.5T. It was afterall the first CIS and that what sets its uniqueness apart from the 73T. It was Porsche's last longhood model.

What I did regarding any updates and requirements was to add, a "hot start relay" at the starter/solenoid, install the, "H-4 lamp relay kit", since I converted to H-4 headlamps, upgraded the "Air conditioning relay" in the smugglers box, installed "Heet Sheets", Pelican World Famous "Cooler Collar", and on and on.......................

The 2.4 is a great engine not known for overheating and outstanding for stop and go stresses of city driving. Folks were earlier talking oil, so I thought I would chime in......I have been using Valvoline 20w-50w Racing V ever since I bought the car twelve years ago. Thus far no issues, but I do add Marvel Mystery Oil occassionally for a shot of top end lubrication.

You have a beautiful car and the blue interior finish is very unique.

I started a thread here somewhere on the differences between the 1973.5 cars and the 1973s. It might be useful if you pull it up with the search function. Besides the engine and assorted electrical support for same, the rear side bolsters are supposed to be different - IIRC, they are like those in the 74 models, and I think there are some other '74 like changes elsewhere.

I am a Registered CIS-Hater, but it does give you improved cold start driveability, lower emissions and much better fuel economy than carbs (even as it parasitically sucks the sportiness from the motor). It is non-trivial to get rid of it.

i do know the differences between the 73T and the 73.5T. it was a simple mistake that i forgot to put the .5 on there, next time i will try to be more careful.

as far as changing the car to a carb set up, i doubt i will go that route. i just want to keep everything stock. i do love the way the carb set up looks compared to the CIS.

So... change it.
