testing coil?
Does anyone know off the top of their head how to test a coil on an 82 SC?
I've spend a while reading the Bentley, searching threads and I'm running out of time before the rains hit. Thanks Steve |
Not off the "top",..but my Bentley (for 1989) was good in providing me the resistance values for both primary and secondary of the transformer...yours should, as well.
Best, Doyle |
Got this from Bob at Pelican in case people search this thread later
The coil terminals are numbered 1 (+), 15 (-), and 4 (large center terminal). Resistance should be measured between 1 and 15, value should be 0.4-0.7 Ohms. Between terminals 1 and 4 resistance should be 5.0-8.7 K Ohms. |
