Beautiful car, man.
I LOOOVE the color. It's similar to the "nogaro blue" that Audi makes available on some of it's more rarified cars. Can I have it? I'll even let you have pictures of me driving her so that you know she is happy and has been successfully rehabilitated an is able to live in the wild with all of her fily members. I promise. ![]() seriously, that is one fantastic looking car. Congratulations! Michael |

Cool car Jeremy! Now you can be on the other side and tell cab/targa drivers how their cars flex badly and defend your car against those saying it's not as nimble and weighs 3 tonne more cause it's a wide body! fun times!

Kiwiokie sent me some history on the car - I am very appreciative. It was in New Mexico - it does have three real fuchs and one fake (any have a 9 x 16 laying around?) it is definitely the same car. Nice to hear the stories jive. It's had a bare metal respray 15 years ago. It's showing some age - but really fine for what I want the car for. The guy I bought the car from had also kept it in storage - it was one of five cars he owned - had planned to track the car too - but never got around to it. So in the past 15 years - it's spent about 2 years being driven.
As you can imagine - it has lots of stuff that need some attention. Loose mirror on the driver side where the base meets the door Tach operates only sometimes it pulses a little at idle brakes need some attention accelerator is a little sticky/stiff I'm starting a list

What an ugly car. You got scroowed.
JUST kidding of course. Had to break up all the love a little bit. Thanks for sharing the details (offline as well). Looking forward to your adventures with this car, because you usually do a great job of asking and/or sharing which helps other people learn from your experiences.

I still miss my cabriolet. It's going to be tough going from a car that was so well sorted - to this car that needs a lot of sorting. I wish I could have kept the car - but economically (both $$ and time) it made sense to just have one Porsche.
Kurt in Philadelphia, seems like he will continue taking good care of the cab, and she will have a much more sedate life in the NE. I'll have another cabriolet/targa some day. If you have never had the chance to put the top down and listen to the flat six at full song on a nice sunny day - you are missing one of the great sensory treats in life. It will also be difficult to go from a sleeper to a poser. The cabriolet looked pretty stock from the outside. (wider polished fuchs, front spoiler, that's it) but boy was that car quick. Now this one looks menacing - but I am afraid not much to back that up (yet)

Congrats, looks good! How does it drive compare to your cab? Does it have original 7:31 gearbox and exhaust? I hear those 74's could be fun cars with their lightweight and shorter gears. Regardless, let the new journey begin.
BTW, why stop at 3.6/3.8 when this: Wheels24 - Error could be the latest trend.

I have not driven it much at all - it needs some attention to the brakes - The accelerator is a little stiff. It shifts well - although the 915 is a little vague coming from the g-50.
It's been sitting for quite awhile - so once I get it up on jackstands, get the wheels off - get some idea of what condition brakes/bearings, etc are - then I'll feel better about a spirited drive - oh and I need to register the car too. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I went to see it last night and drove over with Mark McGarry in is euro 930 non-sunroof bada$$ ride to visit Jeremy and saw this beautiful 74 non-sunroof wide body coupe. I gots to say I am havin' a little widebody envy right now.
This car was well bought and Jeremy will have it sorted out in no time. Our cars were closely matched as his cab had high horsepower but was a little on the heavy side while my carrera is bone stock but superlight. Now he has a light one and I am a bit afraid he is going to try to sneak a 3.6 in there without us knowing about it. That "motor running" sound outside your house is me keeing an eye on you Jeremy! No sneaky stuff!!!

Nice find Jeremy.. Love the wide body and color combo ! It' s a stunning car...
I'll be following your conversion with interest, as you know, in terms of $ spent to make it competitive with the modern cars you run with - I know you will be honest about it, so it's an interesting experiment... I'm still trying to go the other route (modern), but it's not cheap either ;-) On another note, I have a 4 post lift/ car stacker coming in tomorrow, should be cool... That, I can afford... The car, probably not yet...

Yes Greg - this was much more of a "want" car than a which car can I go fast in and "win" DE with.
That and I feel much more comfortable wrenching in this and not be a slave to shop rates with a later car. I picked it up reasonably. I'll update over a period of time. I'll slowly replace things
