911 Crank Sensor Packed Up

Hello Everyone :)

Right my 911 packed up starting a few month ago and iv just got round to looking at it,just had my mate round and he's checked the spark (none) fuel injectors (not working) and rev counter not boucing and came to the result that the crank sensor has packed up.

Iv got a new 1 but unsure how to go about fitting it !! anyone got some good tips, easy or hard to do etc

It's on a 1984 3.2 carrera

best to leave the mounting bracket in place so as not to change the clearance. usually works. remove the wheel and try to remove the allen bolt and pull the sensor out of the bracket. 5mm short allen socket and a 1/4" drive short ratchet is best. kind of hard with just an allen wrench. use an ohm meter between the outer two terminals. should be around 1000 ohms. carefully pry the rubber grommet out and use silicone spray to get it back in. it's a lot easier if you get it on a rack and can stand next to the car and get your left arm in there.

Hello

Thanks for the info is it near the driver side rear,iv also got a new bracket as i was told the old 1 might be stuck to the senor and when trying to remove the bracket may snap or crack.

driver side, yes. they can seize in the bracket, occasionally.

edit, i see you're in the UK, so that would be passenger side.
