which 930 tranny can be shortened?

which 78+ 930 tranny can be shortened to fit a 74 911 chassis?

Only the last couple of years before they went G50 can be shortened. This is because they reinforced the "tubes" that the engine studs run through when you bolt the two together. On earlier versions they were only solid right out on the ends. At the end of production they did a new casting that made those solid all the way through, making them strong enough to cut the end off of the bellhousing.

It may take a little digging, but I'll see if I can find the time today to find a couple of pictures showing you what to look for.
