Installing remote, keyless /alarm door lock

I have an 80 SC and the door lock keys are MIA and the ignition key is different.
Can anyone tell me what it takes to install a keyless remote/alarm on a mech door lock opener? (Non power locks) Is it too much work for the satisfaction

I did it on my 78... Added electric lock motors connected to a remote activated Alarm.

It's relatively easy... Hardest part is modifying the doors to accept the new lock motors.
You also have to remove the small "over centre" spring in the door lock to get them to latch correctly.
It took me a full day to get the trims off, modify the doors and test. Once I was happy with their function
I put the trims back on. (took some minor adjustments)
They've been on the car for about 9 years with no problems.

I don't have any photos but if you want I'll take the trim off one door and take some good photos.

Most central locking kits come with mounting plates and lots of different hardware.
I bought a 4 door kit so I had two motors for spares.

It was definitely worth doing. I've never used a key to lock the door since.

Much thanks

I appreciate your input. I don't want you to take apart anything to satisfy but again thank you

Hey Peter. I'm more selfish.
If you could post up a pick on the inside it would be REALLY useful.
If not, no dramas!

Cheers

Ok I will.

It may take me a couple of days. Please be patient.
