On our '86, the rear lens is screwed to the tailight assy with two screws.

Unscrew the two screws, and pull the lens off of tailight assy.

If it has been on there for a long time, you may need to pry VERY gently to remove the lens.

Good luck,

Gerry

This is behind the lens... its the sidemarker light which is hidden behind a reflector..

It's held in there by a spring clip on one side. The clip is about 1/4" wide. If you push it in the direction away from the lens, it will free it. In fact, the best way to get it out is to use a flat-bladed screwdriver to pry the OTHER side out. The prying action presses the spring clip enough that the whole thing pops out. It should happen easily.

Figured it out.. the whole assembly was replaced with a unit that does not have a side marker lite... so the reflector does not come out.. has a nice crack in it now though.. figured this out by taking apart the other side and I see the clip you were referring too.. pops right out..
