i have pistons, rings, and cylenders for a 1970 911t 2.2L. my grandfather bought the parts in 1974 when he bought the car in germany. they were made in germany in 1973. there in perfect condition they were kept in a vacum sealed plastic bag until one month ago. they have only been touched by my hands. i just want to know if anyone has any idea about how much they might be worth.
Thanks, Justin 70' 911T |

They're not a popular item for the same reason you don't want them. That is, if your going to go to the trouble of rebuilding a motor, you usually want to upgrade. If they were E or S pistons you'd have an easy seller. You might offer them as a package deal should you decide to upgrade to a larger motor. Or just use them to rebuild your 2.2T. Otherwise just post a "make an offer" ad on Pelicans' classified ads or Rennlists'. My guess is $250 to $500.

Pelican lists these parts (C-103-914-02) new for $1745.90.

They're worth what ever somebody is willing to pay for them. Somebody with a 2.2 looking for performance gains won't be interested in them. Somebody with a 2.2T concerned with originality in need of a rebuild might pay a little more for them. But there are tons of 2.2T P/C's available.
I haven't tried this yet, but I am considering putting 2.2T pistons in my 2.4E. Theoretically it will raise the compression of a 2.4T about a point, and a 2.4E about half a point. Somebody else looking to do this might find your T pistons somewhat interesting. Good luck! BK |
