Simple CIS Curiousity

What does the electrical connection to the base of the air flow plate do? I know the wires connected to plenum under throttle body are cold start injector.

If it is the one on the rear side of the airflow plate, it is the fuel pump switch. When the airflow plate rises the switch allows the fuel pump to run. When the plate is at rest, not running or stalled, the fuel pump is cut off.

The air sensor plate acts as a switching device to the air flow switch to open/close the circuit for ground connection. Here are where the two (2) brown wires are connected:
1). The brown wire goes to a ground contact usually at the alternator @ D-.
2). The other wire (brown/black) goes to the FPR (fuel pump relay) @ terminal #85.

Understanding how the FPR works is another story. If you're interested just ask and you'll have it. Hope this helps.
