Seat Police: Help Identifying Buckets: Recaro/Scheel/Corbeau?

I think these are early Recaros, but not sure. Looking for some help.

They obviously came out of a 914, but I am not sure of the exact model. Also, obviously recovered in some period corderouy-type fabric. Nicely done and seats in great shape, just don't know exactly what they are. PO said they were Recaros.

Thanks for your help!

My guess is Scheel, based on the side profile, and that they recovered the whole seat (which is what Scheel did with that model of seat). With Recaro's I don't think they would have gone to that trouble...

(yes, I'm sport seat police...)

Hmm - the padding and lines seem very different from the Corbeau classics. Consensus seems to be Scheel-Mann modle 300s, and they match to that very well. I have a Corbeau classic, and they seem very different.

Scheel also made a model with a steel frame that was webbed similar to these. The bolster profile is more straight on that model like these than the glass Scheel which has a more pronounced hump.

Usually the Scheels have more padding to my eyes than the Corbeau. This one looks a little thin on the padding and the upper part of the back rest looks more Corbeau to me as well. I'd look for a Scheel tag on the frame first.

Here's a comparison so the Corbeau classic. Not only padding difference, but significant frame and scale difference. Plus, the Corbeau has a square steel tubing frame, visible through the vinyl - esp on the seat back, while these have a round steel tubing. I will look for a tag on the frame.

I had a set of Paddy Hopkirk rally seats from England that really looked a lot like those.

Ah - I hadn't thought of that. Could even be Huntmasters - rare brand from the 70s. Don't have any pics of your Paddy Hopkirk seats, do you?

Thanks!

There's some thought that they could be Koenigs, but I don't know much at all about Koenigs - anyone offer some light in that direction?
