Did Porsche install Boge fronts with Bilstein rears?
 

On my 89 cab there are black Boge front struts and green Bilstein rears. Coulld these be original or did the PO replace the rears? Also the black Boge fronts have a green colored upper dust cover without identification on them - is that stock or might they indicate Bilstein cartridges in the original Boge struts?

they didn't mismatch them. there probably are bilstiens in the boge struts.

So if the fronts are black they can only be the Boge type (yet still of course have Bilstein inserts)?
