where can I find another decal like this
 

I am working on my engine and it is a great time to do some cleaning. The band that hold the fan in place looks quite dingy. It is easy to clean with a little metal polish but this will damage the timing decal. I would like to remove it and replace it when done cleaning. below is a photo of the decal. It is German and I would like to keep it that way.

any ideas?

try TWEEKS, they have alot of stickers for restorations.

About the decal, I found it here (France) in a Porsche shop for 137 Francs (about 22 $). I would be okay to send you one, but shipping should be as expensive as the decal:D . Seriously, I cannot but think that you can't get it in a P.Shop in States...

So, how did you clean up this metallic band?

I am using 1500 grit sandpaper followed by a metal polish (any should work). It is giving it a satin look. not exactly stock but it looks nice. I may go back over it with a scotch brite pad to dull it a little bit.

How would you ship it? I sent a cd to portugal last year and it only cost U$4.00 which would be 29.50 francs at current rate. 137 francs would be fine as that is what I would have to pay here so please check on the shipping if you don't mind. I will also contact tweeks and see if they have it. last I checked they only had the one in english.

Stupid question, but there seems to be the part number written on the bottom right corner of the sticker. NLA from Porsche??
BTW it's written in german, french and italian.

You can always ask PELICAN PARTS first, hint hint hint.

Otherwise, it's a factory part and Stoddard would be a good bet. If the OE part (sticker) is NLA then a repro is probably available from Tweeks or Perf Prods/Automotion.

Ok so you got me on a technicality. I meant I do not want the english version that I have seen on some cars :)

I checked with Tweeks they do not have it. I purchase 90% of my parts from Pelican so I get the hint. Only problem I do see where they list them. I have only found oil level/firing order/valve clearance decals. Point in the right direction and I am happy to support Wayne.

i restore presently my engine ,
if you want to do a perfect work on it you needs removed the band and go in a shop of plating and to do it replates color zinc and to benefit from it to make plate of other parts ,
it is very cheap and very nice job...$40.00 for a bag of parts

- Osidak, I say again it would be a pity you would not find it in your neighbourhood, but I don't mind sending it to you; I'm sure it's the stock sticker, with German, French, and Italian, and no reference to a US dealer on it :D !!! Do you want a piece of Roquefort within the parcel :rolleyes: ? If you want me to send it to you, you have to precise your model, because of ignition settings....

- About replating or reanodization (I guess I can said that), it seems to be a lot cheaper in the USA than here, even if the process is actually the same; but there is no shop for this and for customer, only for industrial use, so they're used to treat numerous pieces:( ... I assume I'm gonna vernishing it.

I tried to find the label on Stoddard's site by searching for 93000651000 as the part number which can be seen in the lower right of the photo. No luck. Guess I will call the dealer tomorrow and see if they can find one for me.
