high wattage bulbs

I think the original bulbs are like 55 watt H5's.

I would be very careful in fitting high wattage bulbs as the wires might not handles it. Alternative would be to fit a relay kit to relieve the pressure off the thin original wires.

Take a look here for some more reading on this matter.

I installed HID conversion into brand new H4 headlamp assemblies and the improvement is outstanding !!! They illuminate so well and I have never been flashed by oncomming traffic so they must not be blinding them .HID also draws low amperage. I have read on this forum about concerns about the lenses not being suited to these type of lights but have had no such problems.

Lot's of opinions on this, you can do a search on the site. Most advocate doing a relay upgrade when upping the voltage by going with bigger wattage bulbs.

"I" use 100 watt H4s on mine, my highbeams click on with my hood mounted Cibies and do serious retina burning....since the Lasik my night vision isn't the same.

You gotta do the relays if you are going to increase wattage. Either that or get really good at replacing the high beam stalk switch.

Do a search. Too much wattage in your H5's will melt some plastic.

Do not increase the wattage on H5 headlights. They are nothing like H4's or H1's.

Even stock bulbs can start to melt the back of the unit.

If you feel you need to increase voltage, you should get H4's. You'll have to get the plug in adapter for the bulb (available everywhere) and you're good to go.

You should use a relay kit if you get the big-boy bulbs.
